With over 25 years' experience in all sectors of the food industry, Lyn's expertise covers management system integration and re-engineering, quality assurance and laboratory operations, food safety management systems and audit as well as industry training and workshops. Lyn has worked successfully with primary producers, manufacturers, retail organisations and large-scale caterers.

Lyn is the person you'll consult if you need a practical response, something you can use. Her service philosophy is about finding a simple integrated solution, being proactive and innovative, and ensuring the client's interests always come first. Lyn's attention to detail means nothing slips through the cracks, and clients appreciate her hands-on experience.

Renowned for her quick response, Lyn prides herself on being accessible and to the point. With a great understanding of her craft, Lyn has led many complex projects such as establishing a NATA [National Association of Testing Authorities] certified laboratory and implementing codex based food safety systems. Some of Lyn's career highlights are set out below.

  • Preparing and presenting client specific training workshops and seminar papers on topics such as manufacturing practices and hygiene, the food safety risk analysis and control model - Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), internal auditing, quality awareness and quality documentation. Lyn has written and currently presents a quality management subject as a sessional lecturer at QUT (Queensland University of Technology.)
  • Course Facilitator for SAI Global (Education and Training Division) covering topics relating to Codex Based food safety systems (HACCP), quality management systems, and risk management. Lyn is recognised as the Subject Matter Expert for Risk Management, and has been instrumental in updating all SAI Global training course relating to Risk Management and more specifically ISO 31000.
  • Developing and presenting training modules for employment/recruitment agency staff engaged in labour hire for seasonal work in the food industry. The training modules act as a pre-work induction program ensuring a basic understanding of food safety.
  • Design and delivery of in-house workshops for clients usually as part of the offering for consultancy solutions.
  • Presentation to the Food Industries Association Queensland (FIAQ)
  • Preparing and presenting information sessions as part of project management and change management activities in consultancy roles.
  • Developing and implementing food safety management systems to current internationally recognised certification standards for integration with existing management systems. Successful projects include Bundaberg Molasses/Sugar and Winpack Farms.
  • Senior Analyst for Alliance Laboratory Services (a division of Sunny Queen Eggs) focused on: writing and maintaining the Laboratory Operating and Quality System Manuals, including regular review and addition of new procedures:
    • - maintaining good relations with laboratory clients
    • - providing a consultancy service with NATA signatory in chemical and microbiological analyses and technical advice.
  • Providing technical information to clients in relation to food safety, quality systems and food technology in the role of Food Safety & Quality Senior Auditor for SAI Global.
  • Specialist audit Services to verify compliance of SAI Global client's food safety systems to particular standards such as HACCP and BRC. Tasks included client management, preparing, planning and coordinating audits, leading audit team projects, monitoring trademark license requirements and report-writing, and mentoring/verification of junior auditor's competencies.
